Quote: "Just because your voice reaches halfway around the world doesn't mean you are wiser than when it reached only to the end of the bar."
He was willing to be unpopular.
He was willing to fight for integrity.
He was willing to challenge those in power.
He was willing to stand up for what was right.
He was willing to let the Every Man have a voice.

He's a good one!
Everyone eventually has to take a stand. The definiton of a person's character is in what they are willing to risk and what they are willing to stand up for.
Good choice.
Me likey.
If you watch his broadcasts, you can see that he would smoke more when something was serious. I guess, then, that his smoking was a job related danger.
What else can we say about that guy? He's was amazing and I love the quote you included.
Yep. He was the man.
He was truly a hero and an inspiration to all. He, and the fact that there is no one left with his integrity in the media these days, is the main reason that I am seriously considering a career in radio.
Killer quote! Wisdom is not proportional to the rate at which your volume increases.
That is almost EXACTLY how I look when I'm at my desk. Only I seldom have pants on.
duke: with the state of the media and the misinformation super hiway, I thought it appropriate this week.
terry: if we don't stand for anything, we will fall for everything.
P: thanks. Now, put on your pants. No, wait. That's not right. Oh, yeah. Keep pants off. Keep pants off.
Dirty: I like calling you dirty. Me, likey also.
angry: I love everything pre-technicolor, so to see smoking and such in old news footage is interesting to me. I think it says a lot about a person.
Egan: I thought the quote was great as well. Plus, it's so true. We think the more education, as in college, we have the smarter we are the more weight our thoughts and words have. I'm here to tell you, a lot of people with a lot of initials behind their name have a lot of ignorance that they are all too happy to share with others.
JJ: you always sum things up in three words or less.
But, yes, he was.
cooper: He did have big balls. I saw a documentary about him a couple weeks ago and I had no idea everything he sacrificed all in the name of integrity. Huge balls. Huge.
Jay: Really? Do tell, please.
I bet you have a lovely radio voice. I hope to find out for myself here soon.
Matt: well said. Very well said.
GG: I'm right there with you. Marriage and the 2.5 is never something I have dreamed of or thought about for myself. The chest tightens a little bit when I do. (Not in a good way. More in a panic attack way)
I am all for living in sin- I call it a permanent boyfriend type situation. Living together as a married couple, just not actually married.
