our time together

According to a new report the average employee 'wastes' 1.86 hours out of every work day.
This time may be spent: emailing, talking on the phone, sending IM's, blogging, ect.

Now, I think some of us 'waste' that much time and some of us don't. Some of us 'waste' more time than 1.86 hours. Everday.

Now, I like to think of my time here at work as, 'our time.'
Like when Jeff Spicoli ordered a pizza in Mr. Hand's class.
I'm here.
You're here.
Therefore, it's our time.

Shit, I waste the .86 on your blog alone.

1.86? I laugh at that small figure.

PG, all I need are some cool waves and some tasty buds! Oh, and your blog. Oh, and your pictures too. That reporter is totally bogus, and if we listen to him, we'll be bogus too!

By my account, I'd say that YOUR blog alone has wasted 6-hours of my time so far, and believe me, this is a conservative estimate. So tonight you are going to be here with me making up the lost work.

Can you tell "Fast Times" is one of my all-time favorites? Let's you and me bring a portable DVD player to the local playground dugout and watch it together, PG. I'll even send you flowers the next day.

Thump! Thump! Did you hear that? That WAS my skull! I'm totally wasted!

Talking crap to co-workers, blogging, emailing, googling, and pleasuring myself, how have I not been fired?

I wonder how many are paid what they are worth?

1.86 and above in wasted time is a small investment by companies to keep the masses from revolting.

Bare frame: Ah, yeah. Whole days sometimes.

Phollower: Ah, stop. I'm blushin'

That is a very, very, very, very low figure as far as I'm concerned. I mean, I can take up whole days IM'ing, emailing, and bloggging. Shit, I think IM'ing, emailing, and blogging ARE my full-time job.
However, coolcat makes a good point. I am strangely able to get up everyday and go to work. Hmmmm, I wonder why. It is a thinker.

...I don't think I'm paid what I'm worth at my job. Just sayin'.

When people talk like that they speak about humans as if we were machines that can work continuously without a break as long as we have enough fuel. You know, the way Republicans feel about the poor - if only those pesky anti-slavery laws didn't get in the way.

The one advantage humans have over machines is our creativity and ability to problem solve. If sometimes that requires a little porn browsing at work, then so be it. That's productivity.
