inner dork

Did you know the Mayflower was originally destined to land at Virginia instead of Plymouth Rock? They changed their course and landed in December 1620 because of a beer shortage.

....I love the original colonists. We would have gotten along great!

will: That part I would have a problem with.
Taking a detour because I was low on alcohol? That part I would be okay with.

Rob: what are you trying to tell me? I have a feeling you would be right in line with me waiting for the seamtress.

Did you know that one of the longest lasting empires on earth was the Ottoman Empire?

The Ottomans became a world power in 1299. In 1453, following its capture from the Byzantine Empire,(the old remnants of the Holy Roman Empire,) Constantinople became the new capital of the Ottoman Empire. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Ottoman Empire was among the world's most powerful political entities, with the powers of Europe constantly threatened by its steady advance through the Balkans. They controlled most of the middle east during this time.

The death throes of the empire came during World War 1 when the Ottomans made the mistake of siding with the Germans. The Sykes-Picot agreement was the nail in the coffin, dividing the remaining Ottoman lands between the British and French. Several states in the region were created from the ashes of the empire including: Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Turkey.

Do I make you horny, baby? ;P

Dork:

Popular etymology would have it that this American slang term comes from a term meaning a whale's penis. That is half right.

The term did originally mean a penis, but human not cetacean. This slang sense dates to at least 1961 and is probably a variant on dick or dirk (another name sometimes used to personalize the phallus). The sense meaning a stupid or obnoxious person follows a few years later, 1967.

Is it just me, or do you feel kinda funny, like when we used to climb the rope in gym class?

Let the dorking begin.
